Follow process in making arrest

I HAVE witnessed a lot of brutality done by police officers to those suspected of committing a crime in an attempt to arrest them.
Suspects are being punched, kicked and even hit on the head with gun barrel before taken to the police station for questioning or further investigation.
I believe the Arrest Act gives police power to make arrests without warrant of arrest as well as arrest by force only on reasonable grounds if the suspect refuses to be arrested as stated on the Arrest Acts s14.
But these does not authorise a police officer to beat up suspects during the arrest.
There are instances where some have been pronounced dead due to injuries received from beatings.
Such actions by police officers should be condemned because it is clearly breaching the constitutional rights of a person.
Under our system of criminal justice, every person is presumed innocent until proven guilty according to law.
It seems police powers and individual rights is not balanced therefore those responsible for law and justice in the country should put in place a police brutality act to help reduce police brutality in the country.
