STUDENTS who break the rules or refuse to follow rules at the University of PNG should be told to leave, says Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology Wesley Raminai. “Students are there to study and if they cannot follow the laws that the university puts up, then they don’t need to stay there,” he said. He was commenting on the protest by female University of PNG (UPNG) students on the amount of intimation and harassment they have been subjected to by fellow students. Raminai also urged the university council and management to take control of the university’s affairs.  “We cannot give that university away to the dogs,” he said. “UPNG is the premier university of the country and it must be managed well,” he said.
