GARAMUT Enterprises Waterfront Foodworld in Port Moresby is offering a wide range of American products to mark the United States of America’s Independence Day tomorrow.

Opening the American aisle in the supermarket yesterday, US Ambassador to Papua New Guinea Walter North thanked the management for promoting US products and emphasised the importance of trade between the two countries.

North said US food products were quality products and giving local consumers access to good quality food at a reasonable price was a great initiative.

He said US products could not be often found in supermarkets in PNG.

“I want to thank the management of Waterfront Foodworld for trying to change that and we are working with the PNG Government to open the door a bit wider for good quality and affordable American products to come in here,” North said.

He said with the economic boom more people were earning more and wanted to buy quality products.

He said displaying US products would stimulate PNG into producing many more local products.

The display of products is to commemorate the 237th anniversary of US independence.

The products are on special and range in prices from K30 and below.
