Lae Biscuit Company (LBC) yesterday gave K200,000 to the Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) to assist the men’s and women’s national soccer teams for the next 12 months.
Company sales and marketing head Harry Kaisa said the sponsorship was to assist with the teams’ preparations for next month’s Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa.
“We are proud and honoured to partner with PNGFA. We want these athletes to live their dreams.
“We know you will be good ambassadors of the company and PNG.
“We wish you all the best and bring back medals.”
PNGFA Dimirit Mileng general secretary acknowledged the company’s support and challenged both sides to make the best of the sponsorship next month. “Without your support for the teams, I don’t think we would have reached this point to get the team travel-ready and we thank Lae Biscuit Company,” Mileng said.
“This assistance is God-sent, to make sure that we come back with gold.
“I would leave it to the team management and the players that when our chips are down, we had somebody to come along and pick us up.
“The challenge is for the teams to make everybody proud by coming back with a medal.”
The assistance marks the company official sponsorship for both teams under the name of their new Snax noodles products.
