FORMER Madang MP Alois Kingsley has been cleared of charges relating to the misappropriation of more than K6.5 million drawn from Treasury bills in 2010.
National Court judge Terrence Higgins ruled that the State had failed to produce sufficient evidence against him.
He was accused of misusing K6,577,050 intended for the Kokopo district water supply system project in 2010.
His lawyer, Wesley Donald, later said Kingsley welcomed the decision on the case which he had been fighting for the past eight years.
Donald said the only way to clear his name was through the courts.
