Former MP faces fraud charges

 FORMER Western Governor Dr Bob Danaya appeared before the Waigani Committal Court on Monday facing dishonest application charges. 

Danaya, from Balimo, Western, is alleged to have dishonestly applied K6 million for the use of three people between Dec 10, 2008 and Jan 5, 2009. 

He has been released on K10,000 bail and will reappear for mention on Jan 28. 

Magistrate Cosmas Bidar told Danaya the charges were mere allegations and police would need to produce evidence to justify them.
