FORMER Motor Vehicle Insurance Ltd (MVIL) managing director Dr John Mua has taken offence at comments made against his management by  MVIL chairman and acting finance secretary Dr Ken Ngangan.

Mua, who runs his own aviation business, was responding to allegations made against his management in The National last Friday.

“If there is any mismanagement, if he (Ngangan) has got facts and figures that demonstrate without any shred of doubt that I’ve mismanaged then he should come forward and take me through the right process to prosecute me,” Mua said.

“If he hasn’t got anything against me, what agenda is he playing?

“If there is anything that I’ve personally acquired or anything like that, then they should come to me through the proper channels.

“But so far, I haven’t got anything of such nature.

“The banks and financial institutions have got a lot of respect for me because of my conduct and the way I’ve brought the company up.

“It’s very bad when a politician, in the form of an acting government secretary, keeps going like that to score political points.

“It’s not fair on me because, first, I’m not in that circle.

“I’m a private citizen, I’m on the outside. I’m not a politician so that people want to score political mileage out of me.

“I’m not in bureaucracy, I’m not in competition for a top bureaucratic post.

“If somebody’s aiming for that, they should not use me as a launching pad for their gain.

“I’m not in that.”

Mua said records of his tenure in office were open to public scrutiny.
