FORMER North Waghi MP Benjamin Mul has appealed to people in Jiwaka to donate cash and items to help the victims of the recent Mombol flood.
Mul yesterday donated 200 bags of rice which will be handed over to the provincial disaster committee on Saturday at the Banz police station.
Mul’s gardens and properties along the Mombol river were also destroyed by the big flood on March 24.
“I appeal to other educated elites and citizens in Jiwaka to help our people who are affected,” Mul said.
Mul thanked God for sparing his house which he had built with more than K500,000.
Provincial disaster coordinator John Kupul thanked Mul for his kindness.
Kupul also thanked Governor Dr William Tongamp for his K50,000 assistance and North Waghi MP Dr Fabian Pok for giving more than K20,000 towards the relief effort.
