AN organisation made up of former rugby union players and their families is raising funds to assist people in various capacities.
The Old Croc Rugby Foundation (OCRF) based in Goroka is headed by Pukpuks winger Richard Mark and made up of former rugby players, relatives and family members.
Last Sunday it staged its first fundraising activity for 2014 to assist the annual Islands Petroleum-sponsored “Katim Na Halivim Pikinini” medical operation at the Vunapope Hospital in Kokopo.
Island Petroleum rep Annette Sete said the project was into its 11th year and led by leading paediatric surgeon Dr Mathew McLee assisted by Melbourne-based paediatric specialists.
Mark said they managed to raise K1,1700 of their K3,000 target.
Last December, the group visited the Goroka Hospital Children’s ward and nursery.
They hosted a feast and sang Christmas carols in the wards before distributing gifts to the sick children.
