A GROUP of 45 adults living at Half Street in Lae received certificates after completing the Ginigoada Bus 5 training programme last Friday.
The training conducted by Charlie Wanjer covered health, wellbeing and first aid.
Wanjer said the two-week course helped the 45 to understand their health status, the importance of observation and the physical state of one’s mind and wellbeing.
He said they were in a better position to preserve life, prevent injuries and promote recovery.
He told the participants to choose which training they would take at the technical schools.
“The training you received prepares you to respond to emergencies at the workplace, the community you live in and in the sporting fields,” he said.
“You can use the skills in health and first aid to save lives, preserve them and prepare them for medical aid.”
Luke Yakon thanked Ginigoada for taking the training to the community.
“We are thankful for enrolling in this life-changing training where Ginigoada has added value to our lives,” he said.
“Even though the system has failed us, it is not the end. It’s a golden opportunity to help us move forward.”
