DIGICEL Foundation has donated a library to Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Primary School in Lae to commemorate its 10th anniversary.
Foundation chief executive officer Serena Sasingian said there was support from church and school community.
She said they had built 608 double classrooms and 30 libraries all around the country and was happy to build one for Mary Queen of Peace Primary.
“Through education, you will see a bright future and it will change the community,” Sasingian told the students.
“We recently celebrated our 10th anniversary and decided to build a library here to commemorate that.
“When they read, they will dream bigger dreams from where they are right now.”
Catholic Diocese of Lae Fr Arnold Schmidt, who headed projects in the school, said reading books were very important for students.
