TELIKOM Foundation Inc launched its first information technology (IT) laboratory which will be opened to the public, students and small medium enterprise (SME) owners to use.
Coordinator Yolanda Bafmatuk said the laboratory would be used as a platform to allow SMEs who were struggling due to the Covid-19.
“You can go to your social media sites, access them and start setting up your business through e-commerce, you can also go through to update your websites,” she said.
“This will be the platform to allow you to do that.
“For the schools out there, if you have issues with accessing the internet and access to computers, contact our team and we’ll be able to support with getting your school to come and have a touch and feel of our computers here.
“We are also allowing our mothers out there, the women’s groups and the marginalised community out there to come and use the facilities here.
“It is for Papua New Guinea.”
Bafmatuk said one month after the opening of the laboratory, a programme would be put out to officially receive the public with the information that came through for registration that would allow them to plan and schedule which teams would come in.
