Foundation signs pact for training

Education

Digicel PNG Foundation has signed a partnership agreement with 4L Training and Consultants Limited for the Community Learning Centre (CLC) teacher training programme.
The signing took place at the Gomore CLC in Central witnessed by parents and family of the students and James Morrissey, a friend of the patron of Digicel Foundation, and Dennis O’Brien, who had travelled from Ireland for the event.
The programme is designed to provide teacher training, board mentoring and workshops for CLCs in rural, remote and marginalised communities.
Facilitated by 4LTC, the agreement sealed the deal for Digicel Foundation to fund the programme.
The training ensures teachers were empowered with appropriate child-centred pedagogical skills and capabilities to effectively deliver quality early childhood literacy and numeracy, a cognitive knowledge acquisition course of study.
These are volunteer teachers from informal elementary schools in settlement and rural communities, who are serving with passion to bring change to their communities.
