Foundation project officer Oti Lasagavibau told the recent PNG SME StartUp Convention in Port Moresby that they would launch the CPL Pride of PNG Women Empowerment awards next year.
Application forms for nominations were handed out yesterday.
Some of its programmes include the PNG Farmers Assistance Project, Kunai Paper Project, Halfway Haus Reformation Programme and Aliyah Hills Ministry.
Some of its sponsorship include the Buk Bilong Pikinini Tatana Library, Ginigoada Foundation Financial Literacy Programme in Port Moresby and Lae and sports sponsorships for PNG Palais, PNG Lewas, Stop and Shops Vipers, rugby and tag competition, Rebels netball club and Soli Drone: Coding and droning after school programme.
“We support education, health, sports, and anything that we feel we want to support,” Lasagavibau said.
“For us at CPL, it is all about giving back to the community.
“One of CPL Group’s core values is that we care for our community, customers and people.
“By giving back to the community we serve, we demonstrate our commitment to this value.
“In 2014, CPL Group founded the CPL Foundation as the vehicle for our many corporate social responsibility activities.”
The foundation has four major areas of interest: economic empowerment of women, education, income generation for women and youth, and health.
