Foundation welcomes partnership

Papua

DIGICEL PNG Foundation has welcomed the partnership with Total E&P PNG Limited to continue delivering basic education and health services in Gulf, chief executive Beatrice Mahuru says.
“For development to get to the remote parts of the country, we have to partner with people who have the strength and resources and are able to bridge those gaps for us,” she said.
Mahuru said this is the third time for the foundation to partner Total, and this time, to develop the Evara Health Centre in Kikori.
“We are looking forward to completing that project next month,” she said. “Total has been our partner since last year to deliver the double classroom projects for the Poroi and Muro primary schools.”
The agreement between the foundation and Total allows support from each partners for the benefit of the people of Gulf, particularly the Papua LNG project areas in Baimuru and Ihu
local level government areas of Kikori.
Total, the operator of the Papua LNG joint venture, will provide logistical support by transporting project materials and contractor personnel into the communities while the foundation will build it.
