Foundation’s sponsorship programme targets technical training

Youth & Careers

The JEM Sponsorship Foundation (JSF) has been providing sponsorship grants for disadvantaged students since 2003.
JSF founder Eduardo Salazar said the sponsorship was mainly targeted to students who wanted to pursue their studies in technical training.
Port Moresby Grammar grade 12 dux George Apa was the first recipient of the 2019 scholarship award.
“He won first prizes in physics, chemistry, applied geography and biology. For grade 10 students, they must score distinctions in core subjects to be eligible for the scholarship,” Salazar said.
He also urge students studying technical courses from the listed schools such as Port Moresby Technical College, Hohola Youth Development Centre, the Limana Vocational Centre and the Maino Heduru Vocational Centre to apply.
“Students must get a recommendation letter from their school principals or village chiefs with an updated curriculum vitae and photograph to apply.”
Salazar called on interested students to apply for the scholarship for their 2020 studies.
“Any student that scores distinctions can apply.”
