FAZILAH Bazari, founder of Yoga Unites PNG hopes to enable underprivileged youths to become agents of change in their communities by using yoga as a tool to unlock their potential.

“One powerful thing about yoga is that you realise that the power to change is already within you,” Bazari said.

“You have to remove all the distractions that stop you from reaching your full potential.”

Yoga is a physical and mental exercise. And like any other exercise it requires discipline and commitment from the participant to gain the benefits. The goal of Yoga Unites PNG is to enable youths to become agents of change within their communities.

Practising yoga daily gives youths a routine, and to perform the techniques correctly one has to focus on the activity.

Bazari said with that new found discipline it was hoped that youths would be encouraged to make positive changes in their lives and become productive members of their communities.

“Change is much better when people are ready.”

Yoga Unites PNG is currently operating out of Port Moresby Technical College where they offer daily yoga sessions every morning from 9am to 10am. It is open to public.
