Framework to ensure education of trainers

 THE country’s qualification framework will ensure that education and training providers will offer quality education and training, an official says.
National Skills Development Authority consultant George Arua said there were many variations to the training offered by the Government training institutions and private training providers.
He said there was a lack of consistent and recognised standards.
“There the PNGQF will clearly define these standards in line with internationally-recognised standards,” he said.
“The qualification framework is a means to improve the quality of training and enhances employer and community confidence in the qualification gained by people.”
Arua said not many education institutions were aware of this and he appealed to the office of higher education, the education department and national training council to conduct awareness especially in industries and training schools.
