THE commitment and effort by the Wau Football Association (WFA) have not gone to waste and development is transparent, with a lot of goals achieved, says president Shem Farrock.
With the development of players, WFA has produced young talent who are now playing NSL, among them Darius Edwin, Daniel Tobem and Alfred Tobem, who are playing with Morobe United.
Jason Farrock is with Morobe Wawens and Tommy Semmy is with New Zealand’s Hamilton Wanderers.
In the local competition, Darius plays for DM Flyers, the Tobem brothers and Farrock are with Pascold, Otto Kusuman plays for Zairas and Semmy for Kaindi.
Semmy was selected to represent WFA in a youth tournament in Goroka and was picked for the PNGFA Besta development programme with Farrock and Kusuman.
Farrock said the players’ rise to the top had seen WFA achieve its goal to expose their talent.
He said WFA also achieved its goal in the technical area where it produced two young referees — Noah Kusunan and Charles Arangi.
Kusunan has been graded to Fifa assistant referee and Arangi is now participating in the NSL competition.
“As the president of the association, I am proud of the achievement through players and referees, who were brought up by WFA, I am proud of my referee (Arangi) who was allocated for the NSL grand final between Toti City and Hekari United,” Farrock said.
“He was very confident in making decisions.
“I also acknowledge referee development officer Jimmy Warai for recognising Arangi’s talent.”
