I SUPPORT Jay Wohiemani (The National, Jan 26) that Central Sepik province is the way forward.
I also support the move originally suggested by Maprik MP and leader of People’s Action Party Gabriel Kapris.
The Central Sepik region can have its own financial, political and administrative power.
For far too long powers are centred in the provincial capital Wewak, giving advantage to Wewak, Yangoru and Angoram districts to access public services.
I recalled in this term of provincial government when Sepik members were lobbying for the deputy governor’s post.
The people of Central Sepik region expected the deputy governor’s post to balance the power sharing, but they were not given the opportunity.
The National Alliance provincial branch was too  greedy and selfish and lobbied for a Wewak islander yet the islands do not have any resources to contribute to the economy of the province.
The reason being that central sepik region are “Bush Kanakas”, a term used by Grand chief Sir Michael Somare. But we always vote him in to become the longest serving parliamentarian in the Commonwealth.
In the short history of Sepik politics, the Central Sepik region people have always been marginalised in all levels of public services delivery.
 Here are a few examples:
l In spite of some good and hard working public servants who were from Central Sepik region working with East Sepik administration, none were promoted to occupy senior positions; and
l Unfair distribution of goods and services to the six districts and yet expect the people and public servants of Sepik Central to perform their duties to highest expectation.
Kapris is moving in the right direction and should be supported by all the people of Sepik Central region.
