Fund trainee pilots, PNGSDP

Letters, Normal

ON behalf of young aspiring pilots from Western, I appeal to the PNGSDP to consider setting up a fund so that we can be trained to provide services for our people and PNG.
It is too expensive for young men and women who wish to pursue a flying career.
As such, I call on the PNGSDP to consider funding some young pilots.
My childhood ambition was to become an airline pilot so I can provide services to my fellow Westerners.
But I could not pursue it on my own because of the high cost.
Fortunately, I won an ADB scholarship to study at the University of Auckland.
I saved every cent to fund my pilot training programme in Auckland.
I am about to complete my private pilot licence.
Although I would like to get a commercial licence, the cost is too high for me.
After completing my studies here, my aim is to become a development worker and a pilot so that I can provide both services to my people in Western when I come home.
