PNG Children’s Foundation depends on generous public donations to feed, clothe and care for orphans.
“No matter how much the contribution may be, it will make a difference,” foundation president Yiannis Nicolaou said.
“I hope more donors will help make the difference for the unfortunate children with a bit of generosity,” he said after receiving K2,000 from Bula Talei, the band headed by lead singer Elina Onno.
Bula Talei launched its debut album recently at the Lamana Gold Club with a charity fund raising for the foundation.
In recent years, the PNG Children’s Foundation had made several efforts to secure suitable land to construct a multi-purpose learning centre to be used as a temporary shelter for children until a suitable home was found.
The land has been promised to the foundation but yet to be delivered.
One of the foundation’s major fund raising is the 2010 Little Princess of the World.
Parents and guardians can nominate their daughter by contacting Mr Nicolaou at Lamana Hotel (323 2333 ext 555).
Bula Talei also handed over K5,000 to Port Moresby General Hospital’s children’s ward.
The initiative to help the foundation and the children’s ward was promoted by Mr Onno.
