‘Passion to win’ is a motto that SP Brewery’s public relations executive, Nancy Gah aims to drive when she returns to the Port Moresby SP Brewery office following her two-month stint with Heineken Vietnam (HV).
Gah was part of Heineken’s Asia Pacific Accelerate Your Talent programme on a short term assignment from July 23 to Sept 21, 2018.
She was also privileged to have been a part of an inauguration ceremony held on Sept in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to witness the crowning of the best companies to work for in Asia.
Coincidently, HV was honored with an award as one of the best companies in Asia to work with by the HR Asia, one of Asia’s leading publications for HR professionals.
Gah says HV employees value their motto with so much commitment in ensuring the company achieves its goals and priorities in order to “brew a better Vietnam.”
“The experience thus far is mind blowing and the biggest takeaway for me is the people’s passion to win,” said Gah. “HV is a much bigger company than SP Brewery and it has over a thousand employees across six breweries in Vietnam.”
Like many other employees who work overseas, short term assignments are a great way to experience different cultures and also learn different ways of working.
“It was an amazing journey both at work and learning about the people and the Vietnamese culture,” said Gah.
Whilst in Vietnam, Gah was involved in several projects within the internal and external communications of HV.
Gah said that she had learnt a lot and the biggest learning experience whilst carrying out her external communications assignment was HV’s ‘When You Drive, Never Drink Campaign’ that was launched in July and the opportunity to work with the HV’s human resource department for the HR Asia Award.
“I am so privileged to have been part of the event and I would like to take this time to congratulate HV again for winning the 2018 HR Asia Awards,” said Gah.
