FORMER Governor of Madang and MP for Raicoast James Gau wants to work with new Governor Jim Kas to connect missing links in the province.
Gau is a second-term MP and displayed a much-needed spirit in politics when he congratulated Kas and said he preferred to work with his office to help in projects such as connecting roads that have been neglected in the province.
As people had elected them, it was important they worked together for maximum effect, Gau said.
“I want to work together with my governor so that we connect some of the missing links like the Madang-Middle Ramu, Madang-Simbai, parts of Usino-Bundi, parts of Bogia, Sumkar and the Raicoast electorates,” he said.
Many lives have been lost at sea as people attempted to travel by small crafts in unsuitable weather and airfares were too high for the ordinary people, he said.
Connecting the links would help greatly in the transport system, he believed.
Gau was grateful to the people for allowing him a chance to complete some projects.
The big project was the Raicoast-Madang link which affected so many people, he said appealed to people to support them.
