The National, Wednesday February 3rd, 2016
POLICE have seized equipment used in making fake drivers’ licences using the Central Province Transport Authority logo following a raid at 6-Mile, Port Moresby.
A police officer told The National yesterday that the suspected owner escaped but the equipment was seized and taken to the police station.
He said the equipment included two laptops, a desktop computer, a printer and a web camera.
“We have some leads here and once we have the suspect, we will make the arrest and charge him for producing fake driver’s licence on the logo of CPTA,” the officer said.
He said the suspect had been producing the fake drivers’ licences for some time.
The police raided the premises after they discovered a fake licence produced by a motorist at a police checkpoint at 8-Mile.
The operator’s premises was located at a 6-Mile settlement, the police officer said.
