MORE than 60,000 people in Kundiawa-Gembogl, Chimbu, have applauded the government for giving K40 million towards development projects.
Former Kundiawa-Gembogl MP Wagi Merimba, who spoke on behalf of the people, thanked the government at Gembogl last Friday.
The district received K25 million for the Kundiawa to Gembogl road, K7 million commitment by Prime Minister Peter O’Neill, K2.5 million and K1 million for rehabilitation education sector infrastructure (RESI), K2 million for agriculture projects and K3 million for rural roads upgrade in the district.
“When I was MP, there was not enough money for development projects,” Merimba said.
“I applaud the government for giving us so much money for development projects in our district.”
Kundiawa-Gembogl Tobias Kulang used the occasion to deliver three new LandCruisers and two new dump trucks.
Kulang launched building materials for the Gembogl police district staff buildings.
