Geologist with a generous heart

Letters, Normal

LAST month, my friends took me to a fundraising BBQ in Erima hosted by a group of former students of Karia St Mary’s Primary School in Kagua, SHP, to commemorate the school’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
I was impressed with the way they came up with the idea of initiating the fundraising to buy computers for their old school.
During the fundraising, my attention was on the MC, Aloysius Otmar, a geologist who completed his degree at UPNG in 2005.
He is now working in Senegal, Africa, for the last two years after a short stint in Australia.
He initiated the fundraising drive when he was still in Africa and started the ball rolling by pledging a brand new PC.
From the way he spoke, I could see he has a generous heart and is determined to help his old school.
It was the same with the working committee members Ambrose Agima and Moses Kundiri.
