GOVERNOR-General Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae expressed his sadness at the passing of Bank of PNG’s deputy Governor Dr Gae Kauzi, pictured, who passed away in Brisbane, Australia, last Sunday.
A career central banker, late Kauzi started in the bank on May 10, 1993, in the areas of research and economics.
Kauzi was deputy governor of the Bank of PNG until his untimely passing last week.
“The late Dr Kauzi was one of PNG’s highly educated elite and his sudden passing is indeed an immense loss, not only to the BPNG but to our nation as a whole,” Sir Bob said.
“He humbly served our nation as a deputy governor of BPNG and no doubt his wealth of knowledge and experience will be greatly missed by those who worked alongside him.
“On behalf of my family and staff of Government House, I convey my deepest condolences and sympathies to the immediate family of the late Dr Kauzi wife Saraim, children Youngston, Milate, Aga Mary, Gae Jr and Alu Michael and staff and management of BPNG.
“You are in our thoughts and we pray for God’s grace and comfort upon you during this difficult time.”
Meanwhile, Bank of PNG governor Loi Bakani, the board, management and staff conveyed their condolences to the Kauzi family.
