GOVERNOR-GENERAL Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae has been invited to attend Saturday night’s Pacific Test match between the Kumuls and Fiji Bati in Sydney, Australia (7.50pm kick-off).
The showdown between the PNG and Fiji will follow the Samoa-Cook Islands clash at Campbelltown Stadium.
Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League chief executive Stanley Hondina presented the invitation to Sir Bob at Government House, Port Moresby, yesterday.
Hondina said his board was considering a move to make Sir Bob a patron of the national men’s rugby league team.
He said the Prime Minister’s 13 match between PNG and Australia would be held in September, followed by the Rugby League World Cup, which Sir Bob had also been invited to attend.
Sir Bob accepted the invitation to attend the Kumuls-Bati match and the World Cup, which would be held in England from Oct 15 to Nov 19.
Meanwhile, the Kumuls have been preparing since their arrival in Sydney on Tuesday with Brisbane Bronco David Mead named as captain.
