GG should apologise

Letters

HOLDING the Office of the Governor-General does not give Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae the licence to make political statements. He should not comment on the State’s political position or its negotiations with the people. Sir Bob Dadae’s statements about independence for the Autonomous Region of Bougainville is out of line and an insult to not only the people of Bougainville, but the institutional position he holds. The governor-general needs to apologise to the people of Bougainville and to the people of Papua New Guinea for his lack of foresight.

  • I will declare independence for my village very soon, before the 2022 elections. This is to make sure we (the whole village) do not take part in the 2022 elections.
