GG welcomes new high commissioner

GOVERNOR-General Sir Bob Dadae, pictured, has welcomed Ghana’s new high commissioner, Edwin Nii Adjei, to the country and wished him well on his term here.
“I hope you will find your tour of duty to PNG personally rewarding and fulfilling,” he said.
Sir Bob accepted the letter of credence from Ghana’s President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo appointing Adjei to PNG.
“I welcome you to Papua New Guinea. We are indeed pleased to receive you and look forward to enhancing and furthering the already good bilateral relations that exists between Papua New Guinea and Ghana since formally establishing relations since 2010.”
He said the Papua New Guinea Government was ready to support and assist him of required.
Adjei said Ghana and PNG were members of various world bodies including the United Nations, Commonwealth, the Non-Aligned Movement and the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group.
“Ghana and PNG are contributing to the maintenance of international peace and security, the settlement of international disputes through peaceful means,” he said.
“The establishment of a just and equitable multilateral trading system and the global search for lasting solutions to challenges posed to our planet by climate change.”
