Go back to your land

Letters

IT saddens me every time I read the newspaper and see young men being gunned down during armed robberies.
Seeing young boys involved in petty crimes such as pickpocketing in our towns and cities made me realise that our country is experiencing poverty.
It is obvious, according to world rankings, that we are a poor nation.
But I strongly believe we are not supposed to be poor.
We are not supposed to be relying on illegal activities because we have land.
We were not slaves.
We were born and raised with freedom and this is our land.
We can survive on our land without feeling the need to engage in criminal activities for survival.
If we want a peaceful and prosperous society to live in, let’s stop being lazy and do something productive.
Don’t listen to what’s drawing you towards evil deeds, listen to your conscience and do what is right.
