God dislikes sin, not people

Letters

IN the Old Testament, God directly killed and destroyed people who disobeyed and broke His laws.
This changed when Jesus died on the cross on behalf of us sinners through the plan of redemption.
It would be wrong for God the creator and Father to punish and destroy his own creation at this point in time as Jesus already intervened through His blood on the cross.
If we continue to say that God curses and destroys us because of our sins, then the death of Jesus Christ would be in vain and invalid.
Remember, God hates sin and not the person who commit sin.
Our destiny emerges out from our own choices.
Freedom of choice is something God never interferes with.
God takes Christians’ lives early as he doesn’t want them to fall back to sin, die and lost with Satan.
This death can be considered as God gives and takes back.
As sinners, God gives us second chances to let us learn from our past evil mistakes and change to follow a godly path.
Even though the nature of the sin committed is very serious and how many times we repeatedly offend Him, he still spare us our lives.
By giving us a second chance, He wants us to realise our wrongs and confess and go back to him.
God respects your freedom of choice.
God never takes away a sinners life.
Satan wants them to die that way.
If all good and bad peoples’ lives were taken by God, then Heaven is the place for all and there will be no Hell.

  • The above view that God does not punish sinners in the new testament era is unscriptural. It is true God hates sin and loves the sinner but there are limitations. Any person who is born of God does not commit sin because his or God’s seed in dwells in him. Any person who willfully sins is not born of God and his seed is not in him. The contributer of this article seems to give licence to people to continue committing sin because of his shallow understanding of the Scriptures. In order for him to understand the Scriptures the way it was intended, the contributer to the above must be born again.
