THE church plays an important role for the country’s development and its contributions and efforts are highly appreciated, a government minister says.
Community Development Youth and Religion Minister Wake Goi said this last Tuesday when presenting a cheque of K10,000 to the Melpa Lutheran church at Tsenga in his Jimi electorate.
Goi said the funding was from his department to help church work in his electorate.
“The church has been a very important partner that has helped the people and my vision and aim is to work closely with them,” he said.
“This is my support to the Melpa Lutheran church who have been serving my people at Tsenga.”
Goi said he would be working with the church, youth groups, women and the community to provide development and deliver services like health and education.
“As the minister responsible for the churches, I want the church to continue with its good work and reach out to the people.”
