Gona men walk to raise funds

NINE men from the Gona Holy Ghost church in Northern are walking the Kokoda Track to raise money for their new church building at Gona village.
The group, led by Fr Denny Bray Guka and John Derrick Eroro left the Ower’s Corner at Sogeri in Central last Saturday to walk the 197km to Gona beach.
The Gona congregation aimed to raise K500,000 to rebuild their old church building which had served them for more than 50 years.
The team would walk for 13 days and should reach Gona by today.
A church service would be held in the church on Sunday followed by the decommissioning of the building and ground-breaking ceremony to start the construction.
