Good behaviour promoted

Highlands

Buiebi prison in Southern Highlands hosted a commander’s parade on Monday as it continues to promote good behaviour at work and in the communties.
The parade was the first of its kind and was held to promote peace, especially after the violence of last year’s general election. The theme was ‘Escape Free 2018’.
Buiebi acting commander Senior Inspector Bob Omba said the wardens do not often follow the code of ethics and their conducts are often not acceptable.
“Many officers do not come to work in uniforms and are always late for work,” he said.
“This year will be different from the past years where there was no proper command and control. I will make sure officers follow the rules and regulations.”
He said the province experienced problems during the election last year and an effort was being made to keep it peaceful.
“Buiebi was one of the best prisons but had experienced breakouts and other issues in the past years and the good name it once had has to be revived,” Omba said.
