GOOD education and character are needed to bring about success and development, says Kerenga Kua.
The leader of PNG National Party and Sinasina-Yongomugl MP was addressing parents, teachers and 243 grade 12 students of Busu Secondary School in Lae on Friday.
Kua praised the strong connection between Morobe and the Highlands region through Miti or the gospel, and urged the students to be conscious of their reputation.
“Society will not recognise people who do not have a good character,” he said.
“In our society, a bad reputation is not an asset. Young people should be conscious about their reputation on a daily basis.
“You must be honest in all your dealings, you must be fair to everybody, and you must lead by your own examples. These are the things that go towards molding and shaping your character.”
Kua encouraged the grade 12 students to be ready to serve the country.
Principal George Noble said because of the strong support of the parents and the positive attitude of students, apart from the infrastructure development, the school achieved a lot this year.
