CREDIBILITY is the foundation of leadership, Minister for Justice and Attorney-General Sir Arnold Amet told state department heads yesterday.
Speaking at a retreat for senior public servants in Madang, Sir Arnold said the only key to improving the public sector workforce was leadership.
As one of the first three guest speakers after Public Service Minister Moses Maladina, Sir Arnold, said: “Everything rises and falls on leadership.”
“America and Australia change leadership for the sake of progress, that’s why PNG is going through this dialogue and transition to choose or find leadership,” he said.
He stressed 10 fundamental principles of what a leader should be, referring to the Bible as one of the best guides.
“Credibility is the foundation of leadership. If you want to make a difference you have to believe in something,” he said.
