Good move by Beseo

The National -Monday, October 31st 2011

I DO not know much about the new Correctional Services Minister Sai Sailon Beseo but one small yet important move has separated him from previous CS ministers, as well as other senior MPs in the government.
And that was, as reported in The National on Oct 26, the directive to CS Commissioner Richard Sikani and his management to immediately look into concerns raised by pensioners.
I am happy he has heard the cries of the people who had given their heart and soul for our country and need to be compensated accordingly.
People in the CS management know that they have not given the pensioners what is due them.
There are also other ex-warders whose pension was abolished in 2005.
How these former warders and their families survive on the streets of Port Moresby or in their villages is anyone’s guess.
The CS management last year revisited the CS Act and realised it had made a mistake.
But it has yet to correct it.
It would be great if Beseo could give these for CS officers something special before Christmas.
