Good start for rugby league

 WHILE we dream of having a PNG team in Australia’s NRL competition, it is always good to start from the bottom.
Our NRL has taken one of the biggest steps in PNG’s rugby league history by fielding a team in the Intrust Super Cup competition in Australia.
The current PNG government has pledged its support in developing the sport and fielding a PNG team in an Australian competition is in the right direction.
While the PNG SP Hunters is an expensive team, it is closely monitored.
Resource, motivation and determination are some of the key factors in making our rugby league dream come true.
The challenge is on the government to build a solid rugby league foundation by facilitating junior rugby league development.
