THERE was a good turnout at an information session organised for Papua New Guineans wanting to study in Australia.
Officials from Melbourne’s Chisholm Institute and the University of Canberra gave an insight into courses offered at the respective institutes last Friday.
The three-day sessions were part of a recruitment initiative by both institutions to inform PNG students of study opportunities in Australia.
Chisholm Institute offers degree levels of studies in health, engineering, accounting and advanced diploma levels in automotive, information technology, building, health care and community services.
The University of Canberra offers study programmes, delivered at diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels in public administration, public policy, business, health, law, building and construction, education, international development, communication, IT, environmental science, customs and excise.
Chisholm official Nyree Syrett said the institute accepted students of all ages.
Officials from Scholarships PNG were present to tell students about its services.
It was revealed that the PNG quota was 250.
There are two sets of scholarships namely, the Australia development scholarship and the Australian leadership scholarship.
