Goroka to host Toklos mix triples

GOROKA Bowling club in the Eastern Highlands province will host the 14th SP Toklos Mix Triples this weekend.
This will be the 14th consecutive year for the Goroka bowling club to host the event.
The game has been sponsored by SP Brewery for the last 13 years.
Teams from the following provinces are expected to participate in the games, these are Mt Hagen, Bulolo, Lae, Madang, Port Moresby  and Goroka.
Interim president of Goroka bowling club Wilson Unua said he was very proud that the club would host the competition.
Unua said his bowlers were undergoing preparation to take on the big challenge that would come this weekend.
 “This event will be a very big one that will be hosted in the province apart from the previous ones hosted.
“Bowling is one of the best sports that is played around the country and  I urged other bowlers to train hard before competing in the games. “Bowling can be played byanyone no matter what our ages are because it is trouble free and one of the competitor friendly sports, he said.
Unua said since the interim management took office in August  this year,  they had been working around the clock to have the greens in good playing condition and secure  sponsors for the event.
“Preparations are all going well with co – sponsors pledging their support to push for the competition next weekend.
“The bowlers are preparing well and hope to meet the bowlers from each province next weekend.”
Meanwhile, Unua thanked the major sponsor SP Brewery for making possible the games 1996 and continuing for this year’s season.
Unua also thanked other minor sponsor Zahaqoo Ltd, The Steak House, Brian Bell, United Pacific Corporation, Hoffman Club, Young Jin Trading and Neldo Trading.
