THE once vibrant Goroka Pistol Shooting Club at Fimito outside Goroka town is set to be revived this year.
Already a group of enthusiastic shooters  has started converging on the club every weekend to take up shooting drills under instructor David Seine.
Digicel PNG has taken the lead in sponsoring the event with mobile phones and other packages to encourage participants to compete.
Any competitor who shoots two bulls will walk away with the prizes on offer.
Each membership is set for K450 per person and K650 for a family membership and for those without firearms they can hire a one for K5 from the club each weekend.
Seine and few members present at the club last Saturday resolved to meet on the first Monday of every month.
The club members had also agreed for each member to pay K100 for  the purchase of ammunitions.
The call is going to every interested shooter to register before participating. Registration closes at the end of this month.
Club member Dr James Yoko has recommended the revival of the club and to ensure it was sustained and more vibrant.
The club president is Barry Paul while Ruddy Wild (treasurer) and Seine (instructor)
They have cleared overgrown elephant grass and dug out excess water from the club to bring it back to its original state.
The club was left abandoned for many years and revival efforts could take a while before it regains its former glory.
