EXCITING matches are on card when the Goroka women’s rugby league season proper competition kicks of this weekend at the National Sports Institute.
League coordinator Peter Starkey said six teams would be participating in this year’s competition after ending the pre-season competition.
Tomorrow, GDH Brumbies will meet East Nokondis while Eagles face RGS Doggies while Tarangau face Lopi Sisters in the curtain raiser to the Digicel Cup match between hosts Bintangor Goroka Lahanis and Stop N Shop Port Moresby Vipers.
Starky said the competition was only catering for open women’s division and should be a crowd pleaser.
He is confident the women will provide some entertaining football and is urging the public to turn up and watch them play.
