GOVERNOR-General Sir Bob Dadae officially launched new uniforms for public servants working at Government House.
Sir Bob told his staff to wear the uniforms with pride and to serve the people.
“I hope that with the change in uniforms, will also come change in the way we think and do our jobs,” he said
He also thanked them for their commitment, dedication and service.
Sir Bob also congratulated his chief protocol officer who celebrated his 20th year with Government House yesterday.
Matthew Ding, 53, from Jiwaka, started working as a protocol officer at the Government House in 1999.
Ding had served under four governor-generals, including Sir Silas Atopare, Sir Paulias Matane, the late Sir Michael Ogio and now Sir Bob Dadae.
Sir Bob commended Ding for his dedication to Government House having never taken annual leaves during his time and ensuring that “everything runs smoothly” for the governor-general.
