Government planning medical centre in parlt

THE Government is planning to build a medical centre in Parliament to attend to any emergency that may occur in the House.
Deputy Prime Minister Charles Abel told Parliament yesterday that health was an important issue as “the work of a politician was a very stressful job”.
Abel said Parliament had a medical insurance policy in place for MPs.
“We have recently completed the process of procurement for the insurance but for those of you who have already paid for your hospital bills, you can bring the receipts and Parliament will reimburse you,” Abel said.
“That is also why we are considering to install a medical centre here in Parliament and have a doctor on standby in case of any emergencies.”
Abel called on MPs to be conscious of their health and to take care of themselves.
“I know many of the members do not smoke and drink alcohol, which is very good and shows that members are thinking of their health,” he said.
“I would also like to encourage everyone to take care of themselves and practise healthy living habits.”
