SOUTHERN Highlands Governor William Powi has put money to back his belief that focus on youths today will pay dividends tomorrow.

He has allocated K500,000 to Imbonggu youth groups with K100,000 to the district to implement a programme for the young generation.

Imbonggu youth groups chairman, Posu Manua said if any section of society was ideal for change, it was the youths and emphasis should be directed their way as patriotism came naturally from that section of the population.

Manua thanked Southern Highlands Governor William Powi for the money.

He said young people were roaming the streets engaging in negative activities that added to the stress of the community, local authorities and everyone in the province.

“The province will change if the youths are given opportunities to be involved in important activities where they can discover their talents,” Manua said.

He said young people possessed dynamism and energy and it was why their participation would provide drive for development.
