MOROBE Governor Kelly Naru has listed for Prime Minister Peter O’Neill problems people in province want resolved.

They met in Finschhafen last week when O’Neill was there on an official visit.

The list included Lae road contracting issues, power cuts,  cheap importation of poultry products, sealing of the Gagidu township, upgrading of the Etep Health Centre into a rural hospital and relief assistance for the Markham flood victims.

“Please cater for Lae roads in next year’s budget and if you can please increase the funding to K150m or K200m,” he said.

“The reason is that it has to cover the mistakes of the first K120m. We need more money.”

Naru said a submission from the provincial government to the NEC pointed out that if the Lae road woes were not resolved, it would cost the Government between K700m to K800 to bring back the Lae roads to an acceptable and usable state.
