Governor Numu commended

Letters

I ACKNOWLEDGE our young and talented Eastern Highlands Governor Peter Numu.
Okapa, especially Gimi, is not known to the players of our political arena, let alone the prime minister of the past governments.
Maybe they do know but fail to recognise the place.
At a recent launching of the new EHP development projects which our Prime Minister James Marape attended, he made mention of Gimi, the very remote and under developed area in his speech.
He has set aside a budget for maintenance and improvement of the road network in the area.
This is the first time a remote area has been highlighted by a prime minister.
Through our Eastern Highlands governor, the unknown has been known and has been given a chance to develop like all other parts of PNG.
