SOUTHERN Highlands Governor William Powi says the service delivery master plan for the province is for medium to long-term.
Powi said the plan included all the development plans for the province from Wapulase to Mount Bosave, Koware to Last Wiru and to the border of Komo-Margarima and Kandep.
He said specific details of the development needs of the province were captured in the plan, and it was not just a plan for Nipa-Kutubu and the central part of the province.
He said the plan was a guide to service delivery based on immediate and long-term needs planned during his term as the provincial administrator.
He said the projects mentioned in a news article early last month were projects he initiated and delivered while he was provincial administrator.
Powi said he had delivered other major projects throughout the province.
“I delivered these projects by sourcing sector grants from the national government when I was not a member and they are signs of what I will be able to deliver to the people of Southern Highlands now in my capacity as the governor,” Powi said.
He said as the governor, he was mandated by the people from the length and breadth of the province and that the plan had been captured to serve every part of the province and not just the Nipa-Kutubu electorate.
He said he had yet to deliver and implement his master development plan, which included projects in Kagua-Erave, Ialibu-Pangia, Imbongu, Mendi and Nipa-Kutubu, and all remote parts of the province.
He said as a young leader with extensive public service experience he was prepared to deliver services equally to all corners of the province.
He called on critics to stop misleading the public and allow him to serve his people.
